Two of my Favorite Smell Good ETSY Shops

Let me introduce you to two of my favorite Smell Good Shops on ETSY; Aromalite and WhatsThatSmell. Both shops make the BEST smelly items!

My favorites are Applejack scent from Aromalite. She has fantastic tarts and room spray! Aromalite also makes incredible lipbalm! You have to try the Wintermint!

Whatsthatsmell also makes incredible tarts! Some of my favorites are Atlantic Avenue and Fall Leaves. I just got the greatest fall leaf tart burner from WhatsThatSmell. You also have to try the Heian Kyo Facial Scrub Kit! Your face will feel like a baby's butt after using this scrub!

Try both of their shops! You won't be sorry!

MIchigan was WONDERFUL!

We had a wonderful time in Michigan! It was such a quiet and relaxing weekend. We rode bikes, drank coffee and read on the 100ft long front porch, and we walked along the beach. Most of all, we just enjoyed being together. The beach was beautiful!

http://www.harborcountry.org/index.php

We went into New Buffalo, MI to eat dinner. We found a wonderful restaurant called the Stray Dog Bar and Grill. They have the best margaritas and peel and eat shrimp!

We stayed at the Lakeside Inn. http://www.lakesideinns.com/ It is a historic inn, on the shore of Lake Michigan. It had the feel of an old summer camp. There was the 100ft long porch that I already mentioned lined with rockers and swings. Inside, there is a ball room with chairs and couches that is wonderful to just sit and read, talk or even put together a jigsaw puzzle!

It was the best weekend that we have had in a really long time. I highly recommend it.

BUSY SUMMER!

Sorry! It has been a while since I updated my blog. I have had a very busy summer. I am going to school every morning at 7:30am. That means that I leave my house around 6:30am. I then go straight to work from school. I have been getting home at the earliest around 6:30pm, sometimes much later than that. When I get home, there are dishes and laundry and homework! I am a very tired girl! I am learning lots and Spanish class is actually pretty fun. I still have another month until I am finished for the summer. Needless to say, I havn't done anything fun this summer yet. Bob and I are going to Michigan for the weekend this weekend, so I am looking forward to that. (see picture of the Lakeside Inn where we are staying) I am wishing that I had the time and money for a real vacation though. Someday!

Cute Little Kids

I bought my cuttlebug a few weeks ago. For those of you who don't know what a cuttlebug is, it is a little machine that cuts paper into shapes. I have collected a bunch of dies over the past month or so and I am having so much fun with them! I am collecting the die sets for making paperdolls and their clothing. Here are a couple of little dolls that I have made this weekend. You can use these as embellishments for scrapbooks or for making cards or whatever! Aren't they the cutest little things ever! I can make them with different color clothing, skin and hair to match your little one!

I also have been using these dies to make paper dolls. The paper dolls are laminated and come with clothing that is also laminated. You can change the outfits and hair! They come with double sided tape to make changing the clothing easy. Send me a message if there is something special that you would like for me to make for you.

Transitions

Transitions. That is where I am right now. I am transitioning between a mom and an empty nester. Andrew will be going to school in Ohio this year and will be living with his aunt during the week. I rarely see him now because he is 16 and has a car and a job. The house has been so quiet. It will be even quieter this fall. Christopher is already gone. I also am transitioning MY life. I am going to school. That is a huge transition! I feel like I am on the edge of MY life! I am finishing up being a full time mom and beginning with my life. Where will it go from here? I'm not sure. Maybe marriage will be in the future, maybe not. Promotion on the job? Maybe when I graduate (4-5 years from now!)

So, I was thinking about transitions. I wanted to define what a transition was. There are so many ways to transition. There are definite, clean lined transitions, but those are so rare! Most of the transitions that I found in nature, just gradually fade into each other. That is where I am. I guess I will know when I finally get there.

HOLA!

HOLA! Que Tal? I just started spanish class yesterday. It has been 20 years since I took Spanish in high school! So far, it isn't going to badly. I have to be in class at 7:30 am, TODAS LAS MANANAS! This goes on for 9 weeks this summer. By taking class this way, I am saving myself a year of school, so I guess it is worth it, but I am MUY CANSADA!

After this I can go to Cancun and order my marguaritas in Spanish! YEAH!

New Stained Glass Piece

Ok... so I am really proud of this one! I made this Wedding Invitation last night. I honestly think it is the best one that I ever made!

The glass came out really square and my framing was perfect.

This is a wedding present for my mom's neighbor. She is getting married this weekend in Nashville, TN. I hope that she likes it!

I am offering to make custom wedding invitations like this one. You can pick out your glass color and wheter or not you want dried flowers added. Just send me a message if you are interested. They are $75.

Christopher is Home!

Christopher came home from college last night! It is so cool having him home even thought it is for less than 24 hours. He has an apartment in Chicago, so he is staying there this summer and hopefully he will find a job soon. He came home last night so that he can go to a concert in Cincinnati with some friends. Sadly, I will only see him a few hours tonight after work and that will probably be it for the summer. He wants to do some free laundry and get some free food while here at home :) That is teenagers for you!

Other news: I am offically finished with Freshman Biology! I took my final on Monday. I recieved an "A" in bio lab!!!!!!!!! I am still waiting on my lecture grade. I start Spanish in less than 2 weeks. :( I'm not looking forward to that at all!

My First Blog!

Ok, so I really don't know what I am doing here, but this seems to be the thing to do, so I will give it a try. Let me introduce myself. My name is Judy. I am a mom of 2 teenaged boys. Christopher is in college in Chicago and isn't coming home for the summer. Andrew is now a Junior in high school. He has his license and a car, so I never see him either. I think I am dealing with empty nest syndrome already.

I work full time as a cell biologist. I specialize in hair biology. I also am working on getting my BS in biology at the University of Cincinnati. I always do things backwards.... I got the job first, now the degree. In my spare time, I love to craft! I have a shop on ETSY http://pinkrosesglass.etsy.com
I love to play with glass, both stained and fused. I also sew and do paper crafts. My money maker is my cornhole bag shop on Ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/Judys-Cornhole-Bags

So, check back often. maybe I will actually keep this thing up! LOL!
